Homemade Apple Pie Recipe

Pie Crust:

1 ¼ cup unsifted all-purpose flour (whole wheat flour can be substituted)
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup shortening
½ teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoon ice cold water

Add salt and baking powder to flour, then cut in the shortening with pastry blender until the size of small peas. Add 2 tablespoons of ice cold water, 1 tbsp at a time, mixing with a fork. Press dough into a ball cut in half (one half for bottom, and the other for the top) on a lightly floured board roll out dough to fit a 9” pie plate, allowing for overlap.
