Mesothelioma - Cancer
It is a cancer of the mesothelium, which is the membrane
that covers and protects the internal organs of the human
body. There are roughly 2000 new causes of Mesothelioma cancer
diagnosed every year. There is a major cause to the cancer
approximately 75% of all people diagnosed have had exposure
to asbestos at work. Asbestos was mainly used in products
such as insulation, brake pads and cement.
It can take 30 to 50 years after being exposed to asbestos
before you see any symptoms. Symptoms include stomach pains,
weight loss, anemia and fever.
There have been many lawsuits for people who have been affected
by the disease where they were exposed to asbestos. Some of
the lawsuits involve companies that knowingly knew the dangers
they were putting their workers in. If you feel that you have
been exposed to asbestos you may want to consult your doctor
or maybe even a lawyer.
