A plastic cutting board makes a great work surface. If
rolling your clay use a plastic rolling pin. (or cut a piece
of pvc pipe) Try not to use a wood rolling pin as it will
pull the moisture out of the pmc clay.
Take advantage of household items for tools like the texture
on the handles of your cutlery. Use toothpicks and popsicle
sticks.
Work your PMC into the desired piece of jewelry ie. Ring
Next is firing. Place your piece into the kiln or I have
also seen the piece of jewelry placed on a heat resistant
brick and fired with a propane or butane torch until the
binder burns away.
Then you can sand or use a steel burnisher to give you
a smooth or sanded finish.
