PMC Jewelry

  • Choose a clay ( PMC or PMC+ or PMC3 )
  • Choose your design and your tools
  • A plastic cutting board makes a great work surface. If rolling your clay use a plastic rolling pin. (or cut a piece of pvc pipe) Try not to use a wood rolling pin as it will pull the moisture out of the pmc clay.
  • Take advantage of household items for tools like the texture on the handles of your cutlery. Use toothpicks and popsicle sticks.
  • Work your PMC into the desired piece of jewelry ie. Ring
  • Next is firing. Place your piece into the kiln or I have also seen the piece of jewelry placed on a heat resistant brick and fired with a propane or butane torch until the binder burns away.
  • Then you can sand or use a steel burnisher to give you a smooth or sanded finish.
